Prominent Egyptian officials emphasized on Jerusalem's importance for the Arab side.

Egyptian foreign minister Amr Moussa said that what is currently raised about Jerusalem makes us feel the special importance of this subject and eastern Jerusalem is a part of the occupied lands upon which the international resolution N 242 - is applied and the principle of not allowing seizing lands through war.

While Usama El-Baz, the political advisor of the Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, said that Israel's attempt to impose the domination on the Arab Jerusalem is very difficult and if Israel insisted on joining the Arab Jerusalem with its inhabitants it will be difficult to sign an agreement even transitional in which Jerusalem case will be delayed, saying that Israelis must understand that Jerusalem is important for all the Arabs whether Moslem or Christians.
