$ 850,000 worth of smuggled cigarettes seized

The Moroccan police seized Tuesday in Tetuan, near Tangier in the north, large quantities of smuggled cigarettes, valued at $ 850,000.

The cigarettes were sized on board two lorries, whose drivers managed to escape. The smuggled product was handed to the Moroccan tobacco company.

Relatedly, the authorities of the Tangier port seized, in separate operations,1,800 kg of Hashish over the weekend. The banned substance was bound to Europe in lorries.

The drug dealers were arrested and handed to the police for investigation and trial by local courts.
