Wide gaps between Israelis and Palestinians in Camp David negotiations
Israeli sources said at Camp David negotiations between the stances of the Israeli and Palestinian sides are sill wide. The sources said the Palestinian side recognizes the need of reaching what it called " middle solutions," noting that agreements were reached on some non- substantial issues yet, gaps between the two sides stances concerning main issues like Jerusalem and the refugees are still very big.
The sources remarked that the Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak stressed during the talks that Israel will not recognize its responsibility concerning the cause of Palestine and that this question should be answered by the return of those refugees to the Palestinian Authority areas (as oppose to their original areas in Israel).
For her part, member of the Israeli Knesset Yuli Tamir stressed the clinging of the Israeli government Ehud Barak to the " red Lines" he had announced before he left to Camp David.
She said in an interview with the Hebrew - language Israeli army radio, where she takes part in the Israeli media team accompanying the Israeli negotiating delegation that Barak had stressed during all rounds of negotiations until now on his announced stances especially matters relating to his five " No s," including no " division " for occupied Jerusalem and rejection of the return back of the Palestinian refugees to their homeland.
