Originally published

Egyptian Presidential Advisor for Political Affairs, Osama al Baz expected the Camp David Trilateral Summit achieve some progress on negotiations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides on certain the issues not including issues of refugees and water. Al-Baz said the success of the Camp David Summit depends on serious involvement on the part of the United States for achieving a just and lasting peace. At his meeting with Cairo University top officials, Baz said land- for- peace formula is the basis on which negotiations have been going on between Palestinians and Israelis since Madrid Conference. He said Israeli side should be aware of this concept so that a just peace may be achieved and Israelis may keep away from equivocation.

On Egypt's role in the Middle East, Baz said Egypt is committed to international legitimacy in its relations with Israel, adding that Egypt is the first country to achieve peace which is based on justice, and without prejudice to national rights.

He called on youth to promote the goals of development in order to put Egypt on the map of developed countries.
