Egyptian presidential political advisor for political affairs Osama al-Baz has stressed Lt. Gen. Bashar al-Assad's commitment to Syria's basic rights and his unwavering stances on stances and principles advocated by his late father President Hafez al-Assad.
In statements he made on Thursday al-Baz added that al-Assad will not give an inch of the occupied territories and that he is committed to the choice of just and comprehensive peace, but according to International legitimacy resolutions and the land for peace formula provide for the restoration back of the Golan until June 4, 1967 border lines.
Al-Baz held Israel responsible for the suspension of the peace process on the Syrian track. He added that the Israeli nuclear weapons and the Israeli military arsenal can not change facts nor impose surrender on the Arabs.
