Turkey cancels a contract with Israel for tanks maintenance
Turkey has abrogated a contract it had already signed with Israel for maintenance for 1,000 tanks from the Turkish armored vehicles.
The Hebrew language Israeli army radio quoted on Wednesday the Israeli daily Yadhout Ahronout as saying that the Turkish authorities responded to the decision to canceling the contract with Israel under pressures made by American and Turkish companies specialized in maintenance works.
The Israeli radio added that the value of the canceled deal is estimated at more than US $ 2.5 billion.
The radio added that the Israeli officials have fears that the abrogation of the contract would lead to reduction or may be canceling the level of security cooperation existing between Israel and Turkey.
