PFLP: Arafat surrenders to the Israelis

People's Front for the Liberation of Palestine, one of the opposition leftist Palestinian organizations, said it will continue the struggle for establishing an independent Palestinian state following nominating Abu Ali Mostafa as its secretary.

Mostafa succeeds George Habash, the founder of the organization, who is suffering health problems.

Mostafa said that the peace process in which the Palestinian government is heading "is not a peace process but a surrender."

He said "The Palestinian people who fought for more than 50 years for self-determination will not surrender and they are ready to fight another 50 years to liberate our lands," adding that Israel is "using" the Arab states for its own benefit.
