Briton inmate flees Moroccan jail
A British inmate has escaped a Moroccan jail in the city of Salí near Rabat, the Moroccan press reported on Wednesday.
D. Peter feigned illness and was taken to a Rabat hospital, where he took advantage of loose surveillance to disappear. Another Englishman was waiting for him in a car near the hospital. Four days later, the car was found on beach, but the inmate left no trace.
D. Peter has been serving since 1996 a 10-year jail term for drug trafficking charges.
Two guards, accused of lack of competence, are now under arrest pending their trial, MAP reported.
