Arafat agrees on attending the trio summit

Originally published

Palestinian sources said that the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat agreed on attending the anticipated summit in Camp David urged on by the U.S President Bill Clinton.

Sources in the Palestinian government said that "the summit is necessary yet it needs preparation, which were made by U.S Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and she understood our situation and we agreed on continuing the negotiations yet we left setting the date of this summit to President Clinton."

The sources added that the Israelis retreated to continue the negotiations and they made some serious steps that threatened the peace process before declaring that UN resolution No 242 will not be applied as well as making violence threats in addition to stopping the negotiations; all these made President Bill Clinton rush in calling for the summit to stop further deterioration.
