Libyan President Moammar Kadhafi left Niamey Tuesday for Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, after a four-day visit to Niger, state radio reported.

It said that his host, President Tanja Mamadou, accompanied Kadhafi up to Makalondi - the Niger-Burinabe border - as the Libyan leader is travelling by road.

During his stay in Niger, Kadhafi toured two rural towns - Agadez 1,500 km north of Niamey and Zinder, 800 km east of the capital, where he addressed rallies and urged the people of Niger to maintain their faith in Islam and Islamic solidarity.

Before departing Niamey, Kadhafi held discussions with Tanja at the Libyan embassy.

Both leaders later jointly laid a foundation stone for the proposed 20 million US-dollar Libyan business centre in Niamey.

Radio Niger reported that construction work on the centre was expected to begin soon.
