Mubarak's visit to Spain as very successful

Egypt's Ambassador in Madrid Hussein Haridi told Radio Cairo on Thursday that "President Hosni Mubarak's visit to Spain was very successful and came up with very important results."

"Tangible and practical steps will be taken in the coming years for strengthening Egyptian-Spanish cooperation in various fields," Haridi said.

"Egypt would export natural gas to Spain within the coming few years," Haridi added. "Investments of the Spanish oil firms operating in Egypt reach up to $ 1.2 billion," he said, adding that there are also 17 joint venture projects.

"Feasibility studies and executive steps of a cross-country high speed railway project that Spain will finance is among the foremost results of the visit," he said, adding that "Egypt and Spain will develop economic and trade relations in the coming few years."
