Peres heads to Washington

Israel's minister of regional cooperation Shemon Peres headed on Sunday for Washington in order to attend the AIPAC conference of the US lobby for backing Israel.

The Israeli radio said on Sunday that Peres will deliver a speech at the conference, on behalf of the Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak, who ultimately decided to abrogate his visit to Washington due to the crisis the ruling coalition in Israel is facing.
