In an indication on improving relations between Algeria and France, a French ship is due to visit Algeria on coming Saturday for the first time since 1989.

Diplomatic sources in Algeria said that the ship will pay a 3-day visit to Algeria and that a captain in French navy will hold talks with leadership of the Algerian army during the visit.

On the other hand, the Algerian president Abd El-Aziz Bu Taflika will visit France on 13th of coming June and the observers expect that this visit would lead to positive results to give a new push to the Algerian - French relations after the tension that had prevailed in the last year due to the violence that French citizens were exposed to in Algeria and kidnapping of the French airplane affiliated to Air France in Algeria in 1995 which took off from Marseilles according to the kidnappers' demand due to which the French airlines trips to Algeria have stopped ever since.
