Palestinian women delegation meets speaker of Moroccan upper house

Originally published

A delegation of the Palestinian working women association, currently on a visit to Morocco, had talks in Rabat Wednesday with speaker of Moroccan chamber of advisors (upper house) Mohamed Jalal Essaid.

Talks focused on mechanisms and systems to develop Arab women's participation in the political and local life and means to overcome the obstacles hampering a real representativity of women in decision-making bodies.

The Moroccan official underlined the role of the political parties, parliamentarian institutions and the civil society in promoting an effective contribution of women in politics and management of local affairs.

Praising the intellectual and political level of Moroccan women, the delegation members voiced their will to coordinate with Moroccan women associations to take advantage from their experiences.

The Palestinian delegation started Tuesday a work visit to Morocco to inquire about the experience of Moroccan women in management of local affairs.
