Originally published

Moroccan minister of cultural affairs, Mohamed Achaari, announced last Saturday that a contest would be held nationwide to chose the best architecture plan for the national library project.

Talking at a conference held by "Friend of the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco" association, the minister said the project cost would be paid for by the Hassan II Fund for Economic and Social Development. He added that that three germane legal texts were finalized, mainly a law on the national library, an archives institution.

A steering committee was set up to follow up the project, comprising technicians, administrators, and Moroccan and foreign experts.
