Sudanese ambassador in Damascus: recent decisions in Sudan aim at rearranging national congress conditions

Originally published

Developments of the Sudanese political arena have raised questions over what is taking place regarding the national reconciliation process and enabling Sudan to reintegrate into its Arab, regional and international surrounding.

Answering all these questions, Sudan's Ambassador in Damascus Abdul Hafez Ibrahim told a Syrian local daily on Sunday that President of Sudan on May 6 released a decision that provides for freezing the general secretariat of the national congress, the federal secretariats of the national congress and the general secretariats in the Sudanese provinces, noting that these decisions are part of previous decisions all aimed to prevent duplication in the leadership and to enable the government to withstand the current political phase..

The ambassador added that these new decisions taken by President al-Bashir are internal ones aiming at arranging the internal conditions of the party and rebuilding it in preparations for the coming general elections.
