Jordanian parliament to hold special meeting for approving economic draft bills

Originally published

It is expected in Amman that the Jordanian King Abdullah II will call on the parliament to hold an extraordinary session in the last third of this month in order to discuss and approve nine key draft bills for the programs to liberate the national economy.

Jordanian official sources said that the decision to convene a special session for the parliament was crystallized in a work lunch the Jordanian King hosted in the presence of the Prime Minister Abdul Raouf al-Rawabdah, the chairman of the Royal Court Fayez al-Trawenah, the chairman of the Upper House Zeid al-Refa, and the speaker of the parliament Abdul Hadi al-Majali.

It is expected to have a royal decree released calling for convening this session and then to be followed by a government reshuffle.
