Morocco calls for end to Israeli occupation of Arab land; Iraq sanctions

Originally published

Morocco on Tuesday called on the international community to endeavor to put an end to the Israeli occupation of Arab land.

The call was made by first vice-speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives (lower house of parliament), Abdelaziz Alaoui Hafidi, before the 103rd session of the International Parliamentary Union (IPU), currently being held in Amman, Jordan.

The Moroccan representative also renewed Morocco's call to lift the embargo imposed on Iraq.

He further dwelt on Morocco's efforts to have mutually-beneficial relations with all developing nations, recalling in this regard Morocco's decision to write off the debt of all the least-developed African nations.

The decision was announced by King Mohammed VI during the Africa-Europe summit held in Cairo early April.
