Israel should be serious in seeking peace
Osama El-Baz, Presidential Political Advisor, linked Tuesday between the success of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Economic Conference, to be hosted by Egypt later this year and the seriousness of Israel in seeking a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
Interviewed by "Good Morning Egypt" program telecast Tuesday, Baz said Israel should be serious in seeking a better future for the region.
"If the Conference is held while the Middle East peace process stands still, the gathering will not have any positive effect," Baz stressed.
"The Conference has several objectives, among which is to prove how far the peoples of the region capitalize on peace and how far they can benefit from it," he added.
"Egypt will pass a real test in the field of technology within the coming years," Baz said, adding that the Egyptian society should be technologically developed so that its products be developed qualitatively.
"Egypt should adopt the technological means in order to be capable of marketing goods and services abroad and to have a surplus," Baz expounded, warning of having only one pole or one state when it comes to dealing with the world's destiny.
"Up till now this has not happened because the US can not alone determine the world's fate," Baz further added, stressing that Egypt determines its policies in accordance with its own interests.
