Turkey: We seek good relations with Syria, and there will be no problems concerning water
Turkish Minister of State for Water Affairs Mustafa Yilmaz has asserted that Turkey's policy advocates good and positive relations with the neighboring states, especially with Syria.
In a statement to the Saudi daily Okaz published on Thursday, the Turkish minister said, "We desire good neighborly relations and opening of a dialogue with our brothers in Syria with all good intention, especially as several points that used to be sources of disputes have been settled."
He added that there will be no problem in the future on the question of waters between Syria and Turkey in light of the positive steps taken by the two countries.
Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister Ismael Cem stressed his country's desire to develop its relations with Syria, especially in the economic field.
Cem said in statement to the Saudi daily Okaz published at the beginning of this week that his country's relations with Israel will not be at the expense of the Arab states in general or at Syria's expense in particular.
