Canada's prime minister confers with Israeli President

Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien, currently visiting Israel, discussed the Middle East peace process with Israeli President Ezer Weizman during their meeting on Sunday in occupied Jerusalem.

Israeli Radio said the Canadian premier, who started on Saturday evening an official visit to Tel Aviv which will last for three days, was due to have met with Israeli Premier Ehud Barak and Foreign Minister David Levy.
