Government council probes transition finance bill
The transition appropriation bill covering the second half of year 2000 topped a government council meeting, held in Rabat under the chairmanship of Premier Abderrahmane Youssoufi.
The only items on the meeting's agenda were debates and adoption of the draft budget, said Bouzoubaa, minister in charge of relations with parliament, standing in for spokesman, Khalid Alioua.
Under a 1996 constitutional amendment, Morocco's fiscal year was changed from January-December to June-July to allow bill drafters take into account the results of the cereal harvest.
Bouzoubaa said the bill is meant to spur on employment and social sectors and promote economy with an increase of 44.44% of public investments and fiscal breaks to back-up enterprise.
