Al-Mahdi did not return to Khartoum
Sources at the opposition Sudanese Ummah party said on Tuesday that a high ranking delegation of members of the party will head this week to Khartoum.
The sources added that the second man in this party, Mubarak al-Fadel al-Mahdi, will preside over the delegation which includes a member of the party's political bureau, Abdul Rasoul Nour.
The sources stated that the delegation will leave Cairo tomorrow and stop in Asmara where it will be joined by the party's secretary general, Omar Nour al-Dayem.
The sources stressed that former prime minister and Ummah Party leader al-Sadeq al-Mahdi will not head for Khartoum at the present and will stay abroad for an indefinite time, in contradiction to what had been announced earlier in this respect.
