Moussa meets with European peace envoy

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa received Miguel Moratinos, the European envoy for the Middle East peace process, who is currently visiting Cairo.

Following the meeting, Moratinos said the meeting tackled the developments concerning the peace talks, especially on the Syrian track, in light of the recent Geneva summit between US President Bill Clinton and Syrian President Hafez al-Assad.

Moratinos said they agreed during the meeting on the importance of the continuation of discussions and of diplomatic efforts, as well as on exerting more efforts, whether Egyptian, European or US.
