Football: Morocco's Kasperzack Convokes National Team
Morocco's coach, Henri Kasperzack, on Thursday convoked 22 players for the national team including 9 from the Olympic squad that qualified for the 2000 Olympic games of Sydney, Australia.
Kasperzack also convoked 9 players of the team that represented Morocco in the African Nations Cup, held in Nigeria and Ghana. These included Captain Noureddine Naybet, Mustapha Hajji and Youssef Chippo.
Morocco will play next April 9 against Gambia in a 2002 World Cup preliminary heat.
Kasperzack told the press that his major objective is to secure Morocco's qualification for the 2002 World Cup, to be co-hosted by Japan and South Korea, and the 2002 African Nations Cup, to be staged in Mali.
He said he tries with national assistant, Mustapha Madih, to form a competitive team that will defend Morocco's reputation as one of Africa's top teams.
