Morocco, Gabon want closer cooperation
Morocco and Gabon on Wednesday voiced will to give a new boost to their cooperation, especially in the realms of education, training and tourism.
This came in talks held in Rabat by visiting speaker of the Gabonese National Assembly (Parliament), Guy Nzouba Ndama with members of the Moroccan government.
During the talks Ndama called for stronger bilateral ties in these fields through an enhanced exchange of visits and the ratification of cooperation accords, already concluded between the two sides.
The Moroccan officials insisted on the need to revise the charter of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) and renewed Morocco's attachment to its territorial integrity.
Morocco quit OAU in the early 1980's to protest the illegal admission of the so-called Sahrawi republic, self-proclaimed by the Polisario which claims sovereignty over Morocco's southern provinces.
The Moroccan side also lauded Gabon's backing of Moroccan territorial integrity.
