Outgoing Senegalese president in Morocco after Cairo summit
Outgoing president of Senegal Abdou Diouf will sojourn in Rabat after the Africa-Europe summit where he will represent president-elect Abdoulaye Wade, reported the Senegalese private daily Wal-Fadjri.
A source from the presidency confirmed to MAP's bureau in Dakar that the outgoing president and his spouse will be "Morocco's guest," but did not disclose the purpose of the visit or its duration.
President Diouf will "retire" to Rabat for an "unlimited duration," the daily said, adding that he will be "on holidays, after a tiring electoral campaign."
According to the daily, Diouf may make "some other trips" before coming back to Dakar at a date not yet set.
