Duma chairman to visit Algeria

The chairman of the Russian Duma council (the parliament), Genady Sleznyouf, will visit Algeria on March 28 - 31 at the invitation of the speaker of the Algerian Parliament, Abdelkader Bensalah.

Algerian press sources said the chief of the Russian Duma will hold talks during this visit with several Algerian officials and meet with Algerian businessmen.

Meanwhile the Algerian daily Sawt al-Ahrar said on Monday that the security forces killed six armed men from the armed groups during a mopping-up operation in Laghouat province.

The security forces found the bodies of five gunmen during the mopping-up operation they carried out in al-Akhdareyah in Bouira province.

For its part, the Algerian daily al-Khabar reported that three members of the municipal guards were killed in an ambush implanted by the armed groups in a road in Setif province.
