Egypt urges UNSC effective participation in peacekeeping

"Egypt urged the United Nations General Assembly to share the Security Council in discussing means of building peace in the entire world," Egypt's permanent delegate to the UN Ahmed Abul-Gheit said on Thursday.

In statements he delivered at the Security Council while discussing the role of the UN peacekeeping forces in the hotbeds in different countries, Abul-Gheit said Egypt was following up assignments to UN troops to contain conflicts in the different countries.

He added that parties to any conflict must agree beforehand on the UN peacekeeping forces' missions.
