Kamal Vachani, importer and regional representative of the Indian Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), said India annually produces seven million black and white TV sets - two million more than color TV sets, and these are exported to various parts of the world from Dubai.
He said Indian black and white television sets are exported to over 40 countries including the UK, Eastern Europe, the erstwhile Soviet Union and African countries and are popular because of their superior quality and competitive prices.
Vachani said the junior minister for finance V. Dhananjaya Kumar, who is visiting Dubai this weekend, will be briefed about the potential in increasing exports to this region.
Kumar will also address an interactive meeting with the members of the Overseas Indians Economic Forum and the Dubai chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
