Khartoum calls on opposition to define its position toward national reconciliation

Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Othman Ismael has warned the Sudanese opposition against deception towards the Egyptian- Libyan initiative whose provisions were agreed on by both the government and the opposition.

In a statement to the Sudanese daily al-Rai al-Am issued on Thursday, the Sudanese minister said that the Sudanese government had responded to all requests proposed by the opposition in the hope of convening a pan-Sudanese conference for comprehensive dialogue.

The Sudanese foreign minister stressed the readiness of the Sudanese government to work seriously towards achieving peace and national reconciliation.

He added that the opposition has to define its position regarding reconciliation and political solutions and to react with the same seriousness maintained by the government towards achieving peace and reconciliation in the Sudanese arena.
