Abu Mazen: Israel is the reason behind failure of Ross' tour

Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), secretary of the Palestinian Liberation Organization and chairman of the supreme committee for the Palestinian - Israeli negotiations, asserted that Israel and not US peace process envoy Dennis Ross is to be blamed for the failure of Ross' tour because Israel wants to cancel or merge the third stage of its redeployment and because it will not stop the settlement.

Concerning Israel's accusation to the Palestinians of delaying implementing the agreements and reaching a compromise to ratifying the agreements, he said this is a kind of manipulation with words when they speak about painful resolutions and a compromise.

"I do not know what they want unless they want to give up applying resolutions N 242 and 338 as applied in Egypt and Jordan and will be in Syria. We will not accept giving up," he said.
