Sudan condemns rebels' warning to rescue agencies

Originally published

The Sudanese government condemned yesterday the Sudan People's Liberation Army under the chairmanship of John Garang due to their treatment of the rescue agencies in the south.

A statement issued by the Sudanese Foreign Ministry said the SPLA grants the rescue agencies a period of time until March 1 to sign a note of understanding with it or to leave the country, which will affect thousands of innocent civilians.

The government confirmed its commitment to providing all the citizens affected by the war with their food and medical supplies.
