Moroccan enterprises criticize government's poor consultation
The Moroccan enterprises association (CGEM) criticized the ministries for failing to consult the enterprises before drafting major laws.
The CGEM said all actions undertaken outside consultation are a cause of suspicion and mistrust. It wondered on the fate of the labor code project, a project to make health insurance compulsory which took the insurance federation months to draft, a textile-garment contract-program submitted to the government in 1999 and other texts on fishing, tourism that have not yet been submitted to the government.
The CGEM also said it is up to Morocco to upgrade the competitiveness of its enterprises, and European support is only an extra. The association says protecting jobs, fiscal receipts, creating wealth and promoting economic activity are the state's business.
It called the state to reduce prices of production costs as a necessary support measure to efforts to improve the country's international economic competitiveness.
