Sudanese sources expect Egyptian ambassador's arrival in Khartoum soon
Sudanese sources in Cairo asserted that Khartoum expects the Egyptian ambassador's arrival during the coming weeks, telling ArabicNews.com that this step is considered a topping for the great improvement which took place in Sudanese - Egyptian relations recently, which included a visit by Sudanese President Omar El-Bashir to Cairo and his meeting with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
The sources added that sending an Egyptian ambassador to Khartoum will support the Egyptian effort which aims at mediating between the opposition and the government to achieve stability in Sudan.
They referred to the possibility of convening a trilateral ministerial meeting between Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa, Sudanese FM Mustafa Othman Ismael and Libyan FM Omar El-Montassir at the end of February or beginning of March to discuss the developments in implementing the joint Libyan - Egyptian initiative.
