Moroccan textile and garments exhibitions in London and Paris next March

The Moroccan textile and garments exhibition known as "VETMA" will be held in London and Paris next March.

The VETMA exhibition in London, the 4th of the kind, is scheduled for March 27-28 while the 5th VETMA in Paris is to be held on March 30-31.

The exhibition is meant to explore new outlets and to provide opportunity to Moroccan operators to tap the British and French markets.

According to the Moroccan association of textile and garments industries, the previous shows in London enabled the sector to tap an important part of the British market which became Morocco's second client, while the events in France enabled the sector to maintain its rank as France's first garments supplier.

The textile and garments sector exports amounted in 1999 to some $2.7 billion (27 billion DH). The sector employs 39% of the labor force in the processing industries and contributes nearly 40% of Morocco's total exports.
