Moroccan teachers to go on strike next week

Originally published

The Moroccan Education Autonomous Federation on Friday called teachers to go on strike on February 23 and 24.

The federation, close to the Istiqlal Party (in government), said it will continue struggle for the materialization of teachers' "legitimate and fair" claims. It warned the government against failure to meet the grievances in a deadline that will expire next March 15.

The teachers staged on Thursday and Friday a strike that the federation described as "successful."

The teachers claim better working conditions, salary increases and stronger promotion.
