Originally published

El-Sadek El-Mahdi, head of the Sudanese opposition Ummah Party, asserted that the Egyptian - Libyan initiative concerning Sudan had achieved numerous positive results.

El-Mahdi asked John Garang, head of the rebels in southern Sudan to determine a clear position toward the joint initiative and comprehensive political solution for the crisis.

El-Mahdi told ArabicNews.com that Garang must announced his acceptance of the initiative with just conditions and to abide by attending the Egyptian - Sudanese - Libyan discussion that will be held soon.

He added that Garang is accused of gaining from the war and finds it a profitable industry and that this obstructs the comprehensive peace in Sudan.
