New date for Arab foreign ministers' council
Saudi Arabia presented a request to Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid to delay the meetings of the Arab League foreign ministers' council from March 13 to March 27 because the first date coincides with the vacation of the greater Bairam and because Saudi officials will be busy serving the pilgrims.
However, the second date contradicts with Egypt's preparations for convening the African-European summit on April 3 - 4.
Abdul Meguid will start many consultations with the AL member states to set a new date that suits all the member countries to guarantee the attendance of the largest number of Arab foreign ministers in the coming session, whose chairmanship Oman will receive from Iraq.
