Experimental mobile phone service to start in Syria
The experimental project for mobile phone in Syria will be implemented starting on Monday for a year. A statement issued by the Syrian embassy in Cairo said the project inlcudes 40,000 lines in Damascus and 20,000 in Halab, adding that the service fees will be high due to the project's limited capacity, as the participants will pay $1,200 US to get a mobile line in addition to a monthly fee of $50 US, while price per minute will be one dollar.
This is according to a signed agreement between the Syrian government last year and the Swedish company Ericsson.
