AL: Israelis are those who will be burnt, not the Lebanese

The Arab League on Thursday warned Israel against the consequences of its continued attacks against Lebanon and its threats against it.

In a press conference he held in Cairo on Thursday, Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid said the Israelis are the ones who will be burnt and not Lebanon if tensions and aggressions are escalated.

The statements made by the AL chief came in reply to threats made by Israeli Foreign Minister David Levy on Tuesday against Lebanon.

Abdul Meguid added, "The statement of the Israeli foreign minister to burn Lebanon is very serious," adding that the Israelis "will be burnt rather than Lebanon."
