Sahrawi league in Europe says Polisario maneuvers doomed to failure

Originally published

The league of Moroccan Sahrawis living in France and Europe said the separatist Polisario's maneuvers to sabotage the identification operation and prevent the participation of all sahrawis in the UN-projected referendum are doomed to failure.

In an interview with Moroccan daily "Bayane Al Youm," the league's president, Zini Idrissi Moulay Mahdi, said the Polisario plots will fail because all Sahrawis want to take part in the referendum and confirm that they are actually Moroccan citizens and that the Sahara is Moroccan territory.

We remain attached to the legitimate right of all sahrawis to take part in the voting, he said adding that the league is holding several initiatives to support the cause of sahrawis settled in Europe.

He also stressed that internal rifts within the separatist Polisario movement are additional evidence that the end of the puppet movement is close.

The league set up in 1982 is an autonomous non-governmental organization.
