Morocco denies separatists' participation in non-aligned movement meeting in Durban
A senior official from the Moroccan foreign department has flatly denied the participation of any Polisario delegation in the ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), held in Durban, South Africa, April 27-29.

Algeria: 31 person killed in two massacres
An Algerian official source said on Thursday that 31 person were killed at the hands of armed groups in two massacres took place on Wednesday evening in Teyart area, 240 Km to the southern west of the capital Algiers and in a quarters adjoining the said city. Other three were killed in al-Shalf city.

Algeria investigates prison fire
It was officially announced in Algierson Wednesday that the attorney general department opened a judicial investigation to find out the reasons behind the fire which erupted on Tuesday in the rehabilitation establishment in Bab al-Jadid (Surkaji prison) in the capital Algiers.

10,000 candidates compete for the Algerian council
A source at the Algerian ministry of the interior has stated that the number of lists eligible to take part in the legislative elections to be held on May 30 reached 1004 lists including 10741 candidates and that 964 lists will take part in the elections at the level of 48 provinces while 40 lists represent the 6 circles relating to the Algerian community abroad.

Calls to free Moroccan detainees in Polisario jails
The Istiqlal Party (PI), one of Morocco's largest political organizations, has called for the release of Moroccans detained in the camps of Tindouf, the Polisario stronghold in south-western Algeria.
