Prince Sultan: Al-Assad wins full backing of Clinton

Saudi Defense Minister Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz has asserted that US President Bill Clinton fully backs Syrian President Hafez al-Assad.
After he was received at the White House by the US president, Prince Sultan said that President Clinton hopes for positive meetings for the interests of Syria and Lebanon. The US president stressed the importance of having a just and comprehensive solution according to the land-for-peace formula.
President Clinton received the Saudi defense minister in the presence Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal and the Saudi ambassador in Washington, Prince Bandar Bin Sultan. US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright also attended the meeting.
The Middle East peace process and several international issues were discussed during the meeting.
