Detente in Yemeni- Kuwaiti relations

Yemeni Prime Minister Abdul Karim al-Iryani has asserted that Yemeni-Kuwaiti relations are witnessing detente, "over which we are all pleased," noting that restoring diplomatic relations is a step proceeding on the right path.
In a statement issued on Sunday in the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am, al-Iryani said that restoring diplomatic relations between the two countries has opened one again the prospects for economic, trade and cultural cooperation.
Al-Iryani stated that several Yemeni intellectuals are to take part in a cultural forum to be held at the end of next month in Kuwait. "I think it is a step on the right track," he said.
Al-Iryani indicated that there are no talks about exchanged visits between officials in the two countries, but there are "no obstacles preventing such visits."
