King Abdullah II due to visit Mauritania next week
Mauritania-Jordan, Politics, 6/29/1999
Jordan's King Abdullah II is due to visit Mauritania next week. Diplomatic sources in the Mauritania capital, Nouakchott, said that King Abdullah's visit to Mauritania comes in the framework of an Arab tour, during which he will visit the Arab states that he never visited before.
Jordan has no embassy in Mauritania although Nouakchott opened one in Amman two years ago.
At the same time, Jordanian Prime Minister Abdul Raouf al-Rawabdeh said that King Abdullah will visit Lebanon before the end of current year, where he will meet with Lebanese President Emile Lahoud.
Al-Rawabdeh, who is currently visiting Beirut, held talks with Lebanese Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss that tackled the Middle East peace process and the results of last week's Israeli raids on Lebanon.
