Tehran discusses removing the name of Sadat's killer from Tehran street
Egypt-Iran, Politics, 6/2/1999
Iran agreed yesterday to discuss Egypt's demand to remove the name of Khaled Ismabouli, accused of killing Egyptian President Anwar El-Sadat in 1981, from one of Tehran's streets.
Ali Akbar Natek Nouri, the head of the Iranian parliament, announced that his country is ready to study the possibility of changing the name of the street if this would move toward improving relations between Cairo and Tehran.
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak said recently that naming one of Tehran's streets after Ismabouli is one of the issues that hamper the improvement of relations between the two countries.
