Majority of the Bahrainis under the age of 25

Statistics released by the central bureau for statistics in Bahrain carried out during 1998 and published on Tuesday in Manama said that 60% of the Bahraini people are under 25 in comparison with the 40% of the non-Bahraini people who live in the country.
The statistics revealed that 63.3% of the foreigners' ages raged between 2 and 39 and that the total population of the country is 642,972, a figure which represents an increase of 3.6%, representing an increase of 22,594 persons over the figures of 1997.
The statistics added that number of the Bahraini people reached 391,019 in 1998 and increased by 2.9% over the figures of 1997 when the population numbered 379,953.
The number of foreigners in 1998 was 251,953, representing an increase of 4.8% over the figures of 1997.
