Sharon decides to remove Israel's ambassador in Germany
Israel, Politics, 2/5/1999
Israeli Foreign Minister Ariel Sharon decided to remove the Israeli ambassador in Germany, Abi Breimour, from his post this summer.
Israeli army Radio quoted Sharon as saying, following his meeting with Breimour, who was recently summoned to Israel, that Breimour did harm to the religious movement of Shas when the ambassador described it as undemocratic.
Israeli Army radio added that several German dailies issued on Thursday showed support for Breimour and described him as a "new voice" which has not been known among Israeli diplomats and officials, who they said always deny any non-democratic phenomenon in Israel.
