The Kuwaiti National Oil company halts strike after promises from foreign minster

The Syndicate of the National Oil Company decided to put a stop to the strike of the exporting workers of Al Ahmady port after the Foreign Minister Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah promised to solve the workers' outstanding demands and to study the requests of the Syndicate which caused the strike.
One of the workers who was on strike declared that they decided to go on strike after they sought all possible means to solve their problems. The workers had asked for the replacement of the system of selection with tests in granting promotions, and to stop promoting those who occupy the temporary positions for a long time in addition to annuling many government privileges and stopping threats delivered by some officials that damage workers' interests.
After the promises of the foreign minister, the strike was halted and the resumption of work continued.
